Plastic Extrusion Profiles

To manufacture plastic pipe, tubing and other profiles, TECH PLAS uses a systematic series of actions known as an Extrusion.

To make plastic extrusion profiles, it is a process of applying heat and pressure to melt plastic polymers such as polyethylene, PVC and ABS to name a few. Once heated to a homogenous melt, the polymer is forced through a die to produce continuous shapes of the profile or pipe that is required. There are many shapes that can be produced by extrusion and the dimensions of these shapes are dictated by the size of the die which is the shaping tool that’s bolted onto the front of the extruder machine.

Before the plastic extrusion profiles process begins, the die is built by TECH PLAS’ highly trained toolmakers to dimensions that reflect the specifications of the shape that is to be produced. Manufactured shapes can take many forms, but TECH PLAS specializes in:

  • Pipes (both commodity and specialist shapes and textures).
  • Profiles to suit every imaginable industry application.
  • Custom designed products to suit special applications and customer’s individual needs.
