PVC Extrusion

Tech Plas has been manufacturing PVC Extrusions since 1985 and have a dedicated team passionate about making the best generic and custom profiles. One of the most common forms of plastic extrusions is PVC piping (polyvinyl chloride). The use of PVC piping and PVC extrusions is wide spread throughout society, being core products in the automotive industry, plumbing & heating industry as well as in the packaging industry. PVC Profiles can come in various forms:

  • Rigid PVC
  • Semi rigid PVC
  • Flexible PVC
  • Nitrile or rubber modified PVC

The PVC Extrusion process involves applying heat and pressure to melt plastic polymers such as polyethylene, PVC and ABS to name a few. Once heated to a homogenous melt, the polymer is forced through a die to produce continuous shapes of the profile or pipe that is required. There are many shapes that can be produced by extrusion and the dimensions of these shapes are dictated by the size of the die which is the shaping tool that’s bolted onto the front of the extruder machine.

Before the PVC extrusion process begins, the die is built by TECH PLAS’ highly trained toolmakers to dimensions that reflect the specifications of the shape that is to be produced.
